Over fifteen years ago, Chris Miller helped us to find, negotiate a price and close the deal on our home on Manitou Beach Drive. At the time, I was extraordinarily impressed with Mr. Miller’s professionalism, his deep knowledge of the local real estate market and his negotiating skills. When I decided to sell the house in today’s tough market, I knew Chris Miller was the person best able to manage the process. Before listing the house, Chris came over and did a very thorough walk through to provide us with an accurate assessment of the value of the house. He worked with us to determine what needed to be done prior to the listing and was very patient as we completed many of those items over the course of several weeks. When the time came to list the house, Chris returned and described to us ways in which we could enhance the curb appeal of the house. He then patiently discussed the paperwork with us – I am an attorney and was very impressed with his understanding of real estate law and the various agreements and documents we signed in preparation for listing and the eventual sale. Chris then went into high gear, promoting the house with local brokers, carefully listening to their feedback and forwarding that on to us. Chris kept us fully informed as the house was shown to potential buyers, providing us with feedback from each showing. He promoted the house in print and on-line. Although we were relocating and wanted to sell the house quickly, Chris waved us off of a couple of offers that he felt were insufficient or too risky. Then, amazingly, about three months after we had listed the house, we received an acceptable offer. Just when I thought Chris had done his job, he did more. He worked closely with us through the various inspections and contingencies that had to be satisfied before closing. One of the “soft skills” Chris used to great benefit was his management of the emotions involved in the sale.
